“Review 5 star trainer, no question . When I was looking to qualify as a driving instructor with a very well known driving school I was assigned Ian as my teacher / mentor. From the start of the training to the point of me qualifying Ian was always on hand to give me guidance / his experience / and any advice I needed. Without Ian’s assistance I have no doubt It would have taken me a lot longer to make the grade.i would recommend Ian to all. A + from me .”
Ian was an amazing Instructor, he was very calm and collected during our lessons. Taught me how to handle the car and all the manoeuvres in a very organised and effective way. Before and after every lesson he would talk to me about my progress and what things I had to improve on which I think was very helpful in being able to pass my test. He greatly advised me on when was the right time to take my test; taking into consideration my time frame and how confident I personally felt taking the test. This helped me pass my driving test on the first go. As well as giving me skills to pass my driving test he gave me much help to become a good and especially a safe driver. He is very organised and reliable, his arrival time for our lessons were always perfect to the minute and he gave helpful reminder texts before our lessons. I can’t thank him enough for teaching be so well this summer. Would highly recommend.
“It was a pleasure to be taught how to drive by Ian. I couldn’t thank him enough for his patience, guidance and overall professional, calm and friendly self. He pushed me to achieve my goal and believed in me! Thankyou so much for all that you did for me and I wish you the very best! I definitely would recommend him to anyone who wants to start driving! He is flexible and very reliable! Thankyou..”

What can I say about the experience I had with The Ministry of Driving? Due to work pressures I had five days to learn how to operate a car and Ian made sure I went from having never sat behind the wheel of a car to being fully safe on the road in a matter of hours.
Ian is an extremely experienced instructor and it shows. I passed my test within five days of starting and I don’t think there are many others out there who could do that.
I highly recommend Ian Beard as your instructor.
Let me just say BIG THANKS to The Ministry of Driving. I would highly recommend Ian Beard as a driving instructor. He’s very professional, calm, and reassuring. He will encourage you all the time and you’ll gain your needed confidence for the test. I consider myself very lucky to find him as my instructor as he not only taught me the skills, but also understood my frustrations. He’s just brilliant and passionate with what he do. It’s amazing how positive he can be. If you really want to pass, please do not hesitate to consider him because he’s by far the best instructor I ever had. He provides help, skill, patience, confidence, guidance, and very simple and clear instructions. I strongly believe that he can provide you with the result you’ve dreamed of. I couldn’t of done it without Ian, and I will always be grateful with him..
I can’t thank Ian enough he has been fantastic from the start, he is always calm and ready to help, with help from him I passed my test with zero faults!! I can’t recommend Ian enough he is a great guy and a great instructor, thank you Ian!! Jack
Firstly, apologies it’s taken so long for me to write a review but around 6 months ago I passed my driving test with just 4 minors after being taught by Ian Beard and I can honestly say that I couldn’t of been happier with his services and training, not only a top class driving instructor but also a calm and collective gentleman.
All instructions and help towards passing my test were taught and presented in a calm and professional manor, he was also very punctual and always on time.
I would highly recommend him to anyone who’s looking to pass their driving test with confidence, not matter what level of driving you’re at!
Many thanks for the freedom Ian!
Driving School Colchester: When Should You Start?
The answer is pretty straight forward, you should start as soon as you can. Being able to drive is not a skill you should put on hold, even if you don’t see what use it could give you on a daily basis, or even if you’re unable to afford a car anytime soon, you should look to get it as soon as you can.
If you do it as soon as you’re of legal age it will be a skill that will follow you for life, it can also be seen as an investment, as soon as you enrol in a driving school Colchester, driving will increase you’re range in terms of jobs you can perform and you can get your money back in no time.If you can do it, just start now, its something you do overtime and it can be very rewarding, not to mention that it can be fun.Think of it as a life achievement, because that’s what it is.
